With two hectares of pristine Mediterranean maquis, centuries’ old olive trees, zibibbo vineyards, almond and pomegranate trees, rosemary, oregano and capers, this luxuriant estate is located near the village of Rekhale, in the Nikà area, where the sun sets over Africa to the west. As the sun goes down in this part of Pantelleria one can indeed see the African coastline, just 60 km from the island. The flavours and colours, the sunsets and contrasts of the most unspoilt and, in a sense, wildest nature are truly unique, making a stay at Le Bughe an experience beyond compare. The sea is just five minutes by car (the beach and hot waters of Nikà), and the Balata dei Turchi, Martingana and the beaches at Scauri are just twenty minutes away. Its geographical position and full range of amenities makes this estate perfect for families, even with very young children, who can play and have fun in absolute safety. There are two separate entrances from the main road, which passes above Le Bughe, so peace and silence are assured.

Beaches
The sea is just 5 minutes away by car (with the beach and hot waters of Nikà), or one can be at the Balata dei Turchi, Martingana, or at the beaches at Scauri in just 20.
Parking
The outdoor areas of the property are large and exquisitely tended. A short private road leads to the private car park, where we are greeted by a fairy-tale garden filled with flowers and palm trees. A little alleyway through it takes us to the first entrance.
Cook
Guests can book the services of a cook, who for many years has delighted guests at the estate with her delicious creations, and she can also see to all aspects of food and drink from breakfast through to the evening meal.
Terrace
There are a series of terraces with 5 independent areas to enjoy the sun or shade, with spectacular views of the island at sunset, dotted around the lush gardens with bougainvillea, palm trees, prickly pears, succulents, Mediterranean cypress, and two woods of common spruce trees. There is a fully accessorised covered al fresco kitchen with a large fridge, a very generously sized wood-fired oven for cooking pizzas, fish, and meat, as well as a large barbecue that is just right for preparing outdoor meals with the best the island has to offer.
Swimming Pool
The new 3.8 x 12 metre swimming pool and the duchene sunbeds around it have been made using sustainable materials and with the colours of lava earth. The water is cleaned almost exclusively with oxygen tablets, with the barest minimum of chlorine. The terrace tiles are handmade by craftsmen in Mazara del Vallo in Sicily, making sure that also the swimming pool terrace blends into the authentic feel of the island.
DAMMUSI
Comfort and serenity
Le Bughe has 3 independent dammusi – 50 metres one from the other – ensuring absolute privacy. With a total of 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, they can comfortably accommodate 10 people.
Dependance
This dammuso is on two levels, and each room has its own bathroom and terrace. The building does not have a kitchen.
Retreat
Terrace and gardens with exclusive access. Moroccan and Moorish style furniture with authentic Berber pieces. Equipped with every comfort and where silence reigns.

There are countless trips and things to do on the island. Of those that are just too good to miss, we recommend the fortified village of Mursia, the Volcanological Museum, the Elephant Arch and the volcanic lake of Specchio di Venere (Venus’ Mirror).
Lastly, for a complete view, a trip round the island by car and boat is a must.
